Our Weavers
Beyond our intricate designs and stunning sumakhs, Dugul Looms is really about people. We exist to give the women of Qusar a means to provide for their families. Many of our weavers are single mothers—often widowed or divorced—who are alone in raising their children. In a land where only manual labor exists, it is very difficult for them to adequately provide for their families. Dugul Looms empowers these women to care for the people they love most.
It is our joy to introduce you to the heart and soul of our project, the weavers. Here you can see their faces and hear their dreams. These women are true artists. They fashion simple wool yarn into timeless pieces of beauty, placing their personal imprint on each sumakh they craft.
